Becoming Uplift‘Us’

With 15 ambassadors, multiple sold-out in-person events, and 4,000 views on online talks, the demand for career support has never been greater. In response, we are expanded our mission and rebranded as Uplift‘Us’. This strategic evolution aims to bring more people and conversations together to examine the various societal and social influences impacting careers.

The creative, media & entertainment industry, known for its innovation, relies on brilliant, diverse, and talented individuals. However, sustaining a career in this field remains challenging. For many, it continues to be a closed and elitist market, with long-term career sustainability often being a significant issue during turbulent times.

Despite some positive changes in the levels of diversity across the industry, progress is not happening fast enough and often stalls during difficult periods. With many companies failing to support basic career development, UpliftUs seeks to address these issues by fostering a community that creates spaces for meaningful conversations, offers support, and empowers individuals to navigate and excel in their professional journeys.

Amy Mercer, Founder, explains:

“UpliftHER was originally established to address gender inequality in the creative industry. However, our careers are much more complex and interconnected, and we cannot examine one aspect in isolation. To truly understand and tackle the challenges we and businesses face. This shift is an invitation for more people to join us so we can collectively support each other, learn and reshape limiting aspects.”
